“Working with local partners is very important to LYHA and we have enjoyed working with Starfish on this innovative new housing scheme in Horsforth. There is a really interesting history behind this development. The land was bequeathed by a local resident to be used for affordable housing and her trustees approached LYHA to carry out her wishes. Together with Starfish, we created thirteen new affordable homes for families and over 55s in the heart of this popular community. Great care has been taken to ensure the new homes are in keeping with the local area as part of the build we also transformed an adjacent wooded area into a community garden for all to enjoy. We have named the new apartments ‘Rosemary Thompson House’ in the benefactor’s memory; the residents have now moved in and are delighted with their new homes. We look forward to working with Starfish on other developments in the future.”
